Traditionally inaccessible structures often have basic tasks such as cleaning and washing neglected, as access becomes too expensive and challenging to complete the required task.

In order to extend the life of assets in coastal zones, regular and recurring removal of soluble debris and salts is required. Failing to complete these ongoing maintenance tasks leads to the need to replace steel structures such as fixings, roofs, walls and other steel products. Replacement rather than preventative maintenance is a much greater expense, and one not often budgeted for. Utilising a access techniques to safely and efficiently access traditionally inaccessible locations allows for a precise and thorough job to be completed in a timely manner.

Great Southern Access utilised High pressure water along with 100m hoses to wash down the roof of these silos and other infrastructure. Ongoing preventative maintenance in coastal environments, including fresh water washing is key in extending the life of assets.
